# Memside Library

## Overview

[Memside Library](https://library.memside.com) is the public catalog for reusable
AI working setups called **Templates**. A Template can combine instructions,
reference material, examples, and supporting text files for a particular task or
workflow.

The Library complements the private Memside memory application:

| Product | Main purpose |
| --- | --- |
| **Memside** | Stores private Memories, preferences, rules, Skills, and continuity context. |
| **Memside Library** | Provides reusable Templates that can be inspected, downloaded, published, or added to Memside. |

Public catalog pages can be explored without signing in. An account is required
for personal actions such as starring a Template, downloading a complete
Template, importing selected content, or publishing a Template.

## What is a Template?

A Template is a versioned collection of reusable content. It can contain:

- Markdown and plain-text files;
- folders that organize related files;
- instructions, examples, and reference material;
- a title, description, category, tags, and license information;
- publication and review information.

Every published version is preserved as a stable release. Later file changes
create a new version after review. This keeps an earlier published setup
available as the same release that was originally inspected or imported.

Templates can also provide a practical starting point when the best way to
configure an AI task is unclear. A well-structured Template shows how
instructions, examples, and reference material can work together, reducing
setup time and repeated experimentation.

See [Why Templates help](/library/why-templates/) for selection guidance and
generic examples.

## Main Library areas

- **Explore** presents public Templates, collections, categories, and search.
- **Template pages** present descriptions, files, version information, creator
  details, downloads, and Add to Memside.
- **Creator pages** collect the public Templates published by one creator.
- **My Templates** contains Templates owned by the signed-in account.
- **Private** contains owned Templates that are not currently public.
- **Starred** contains saved public Templates.

## Shared Memside account

Memside and the Library use the same account identity while maintaining separate
application sessions. Opening the Library from a signed-in Memside session can
continue through the shared sign-in flow without another credential prompt.

Profile details are managed in Memside and displayed consistently across both
products. A Memside node avatar is used until a profile picture is uploaded in
Memside.

Signing out from either product completes coordinated sign-out across the
Memside product family.

## Public and private content

Published Template pages and public creator pages are intended for discovery.
Private drafts, personal lists, account information, imports, notifications,
and unpublished work require authentication and are not public catalog content.
