# Notifications

## Overview

Notifications provide private status updates from Memside and Memside Library.
They can confirm completed actions or identify work that requires attention.

Examples include:

- a completed Template import;
- a Template review or publication result;
- an account action that produced a durable status update.

Notification content belongs to the signed-in account and is not part of a
public Template or creator page.

## Header bell

The header bell shows a red indicator when unread notifications exist. Its
popover presents the newest items from both products.

Selecting a notification marks it as read while keeping the current page open.
A separate destination action is shown when the notification has a related page.
The popover also supports marking all items as read and clearing read items.

## Notification center

Open **Settings > Notifications** for the complete account history. The center
supports:

- **All**, **Memories**, and **Library** source filters;
- an **Unread** filter;
- individual read actions;
- **Mark all read**;
- **Clear read**;
- **Load more** for older results.

Read and clear actions are applied to the product that owns each notification,
while the page presents one combined history.

## Privacy

Notification history is loaded for the active signed-in session. Private
notification content is not stored as a permanent browser cache. Signing out
clears the active presentation state.
