Open Memside

Connect ChatGPT or Codex desktop

ChatGPT and Codex desktop can connect to Memside through an installed MCP server and OAuth. This flow does not require a Memside API key to be pasted into the app.

  • Sign in to Memside in a browser.
  • Use an account with access to Plugins and MCP server installation.
  • A workspace administrator may control access for managed accounts.
  1. Open Plugin from the left bar.

  2. Select Settings in the upper-right corner.

  3. Open MCP.

  4. Select Install MCP server.

  5. Name the server Memside.

  6. Set MCP Server URL to:

    https://api.memside.com/mcp/
  7. Keep Authentication set to OAuth.

  8. Install the server.

  9. When prompted, sign in to Memside and approve the connection.

  1. Open the account profile and select Settings.
  2. Open Plugins.
  3. Select Add.
  4. Select Install MCP server.
  5. Name the server Memside.
  6. Set MCP Server URL to https://api.memside.com/mcp/.
  7. Keep Authentication set to OAuth.
  8. Install the server, then sign in to Memside and approve the connection.

Some earlier ChatGPT versions use the following flow:

  1. In ChatGPT, open the account profile and choose Settings.

  2. Open Plugin or Security, depending on the interface shown.

  3. Scroll down and turn on Developer mode.

  4. Close Settings.

  5. Open Plugins from the left panel.

  6. Select the plus button in the upper-right corner.

  7. Choose the option to add a custom plugin.

  8. Name the plugin Memside.

  9. Set MCP Server URL to:

    https://api.memside.com/mcp/
  10. Keep Authentication set to OAuth.

  11. Add the plugin.

  12. When prompted, sign in to Memside and approve the connection.

Memside should then appear in the Plugin area.

Start a new chat, enable Memside when the app requests a Plugin or MCP server choice, and use a simple read request:

Find the most recent project checkpoint saved in Memside.

Review any request that writes or changes data before approving it.

Remove or disconnect Memside from the app’s Plugin settings. The OAuth connection can also be revoked from Memside settings. Disconnecting does not delete the Memside account or saved Memories.

If setup does not finish, see Troubleshooting.
