Settings
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Settings is the control center for the Memside account.
The available pages cover profile details, usage, appearance, notifications, imports, AI providers, connected access, exports, and permissions.
Profile
Section titled “Profile”Open Settings > Profile to review:
- username, display name, email, and optional website or biography;
- the account profile picture;
- password and connected sign-in providers.
The same account profile is used across Memside and Memside Library. A Memside node avatar appears until a profile picture is uploaded in Memside.
Usage & Metrics
Section titled “Usage & Metrics”Open Settings > Usage & Metrics to review account capacity and privacy-bounded Library activity. Available Library information can include complete Template downloads, individual file downloads, and grouped Template or file names. Downloader identities are not displayed.
Recently loaded Library metrics can remain visible while a refresh completes.

Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”Open Settings > Appearance to select System, Light, or Dark and choose an accent colour. The accent is used for primary actions, links, toggles, focus rings, and selected controls. Memory types and status colours remain unchanged. Appearance choices do not affect Memories or account data.
AI Permissions
Section titled “AI Permissions”Open Settings > AI Permissions to control:
- access to the saved User AI Profile;
- access to Memory tools through MCP;
- access to Library tools through MCP;
- approval prompts for supported MCP Memory changes during Beta;
- requests from connected AI tools to delete Memories.
Memory and Library access can be enabled independently. Deletion still requires explicit confirmation when AI deletion is enabled.

User AI Profile
Section titled “User AI Profile”Open Settings > User AI Profile to manage multiple purpose-specific Profiles, select one Default, control individual AI availability, and link relevant Memories.
AI Skills
Section titled “AI Skills”Open Settings > AI Skills to import, review, activate, edit, or remove saved instruction packs.
Notifications
Section titled “Notifications”Open Settings > Notifications to review the complete private notification history from Memside and the Library. Filters are available for source and unread state. Notifications can be marked as read, and read notifications can be cleared.
The header bell presents the newest items. Opening an item marks it as read without changing the current page unless a separate action link is selected.

LLM Configuration
Section titled “LLM Configuration”Open Settings > LLM Configuration to connect the provider used by the in-app assistant.
Available paths:
- Custom (OpenAI-compatible) for hosted providers;
- Local (Ollama) for models running on the same computer.
After saving the details, select Test.

Developer & API
Section titled “Developer & API”Open Settings > Developer & API to access:
- the Memside MCP server URL;
- API keys that can be created and revoked;
- read-only or read-write key access;
- the API key list and connection activity;
- independent Memory and Library MCP tool controls.
The full value of a new API key is shown only once. Save it immediately and do not place it in a shared file.
Each API key has an Activity action. The activity window shows up to 25 recent requests with the action, result, time, and request reference. Memory content is not shown in this list.

Import & Export
Section titled “Import & Export”Open Settings > Import & Export for all one-time imports and portable exports.
Import options:
- Calendar file accepts an
.icsfile and creates Event Memories. - Chat or long text accepts pasted conversations, documents, and long notes.
- CSV file imports multiple new Memories from the provided template.
Chat or long text import supports an optional title, a large text field, an optional tag, and a split count for creating several Memories. Supported ChatGPT JSON exports can also be converted into readable text.
Export options:
- CSV for spreadsheets;
- Markdown for readable notes.
CSV import:
- Download the CSV template.
- Add title, content, type, status, sensitivity, tags, and optional dates.
- Use
DD-MM-YYYYfor dates. - Upload the CSV.
- Review and confirm the import.
CSV import creates new Memories. It does not overwrite existing Memories.
What’s New
Section titled “What’s New”Open Settings > What’s New for the latest product changes and a link to the full changelog.
Open Settings > Legal for the current Privacy Policy and Terms.
Delete Account
Section titled “Delete Account”Open Settings > Delete Account to permanently remove the account, saved Memories, settings, owned Library Templates, and account-linked Library data. A final confirmation appears before deletion.
This action cannot be undone.
