Add a Template to Memside

Add to Memside copies selected content from an exact published Template version into the private Memside account. The public Template remains unchanged, and the imported items can be reviewed before the action is confirmed.

This reduces repeated setup. Instead of recreating useful instructions and context manually, selected content can become a Profile, Rule, Skill, or Memory in the feature designed for that purpose. Connected AI tools can then use the approved content consistently under existing permissions.

The review page presents the Template version, available items, and current account capacity. Selection remains explicit. Unselected files do not become private Memside objects.

Supported Template content can be recognized as:

  • Memories;
  • User AI Profiles;
  • Operating Rules;
  • AI Skills;
  • ordinary reference files.

An ordinary file remains reference material unless it matches a supported item and is selected for that purpose.

Imported content follows the safety state of its destination:

  • selected Memories are added as active private Memories;
  • a selected User AI Profile is reviewed during import and becomes an available Profile;
  • a selected Operating Rule is reviewed during import and becomes active;
  • a selected AI Skill is saved as a draft and requires separate review before activation;
  • reference files remain supporting content rather than silently becoming a Profile, Rule, or Skill.

The first eligible imported Profile becomes the Default when no Profile already holds that role. Existing Profile choices and explicit availability settings are preserved.

Imported Memories retain a source reference to the originating Template, version, and item. This provides context without making the private Memory public or linking the creator to later private edits.

A completed import creates a private notification and returns to the Memory dashboard with the new items available.

Repeating the same Template version does not duplicate private items that still exist. A later import can add newly selected items or recreate selected items that were previously removed.

A different published version is treated as a distinct release and is reviewed before import.

The import review includes a Notify me about updates option. When enabled, Memside can show notices about a newer release, removal from the public Library, or a security concern affecting the imported version.

Notices identify the installed version and explain any recommended action. A notice never replaces or edits private imported items automatically. An ordinary new Template version does not send an email. A critical security notice may also be delivered to the account email address so that urgent action is less likely to be missed.

Normal account limits still apply. An imported Profile cannot be added when the current Profile capacity is already in use. The import review shows applicable capacity before confirmation.

Template content should be read before import. Public review reduces catalog risk but does not guarantee that every instruction is appropriate for every workflow. Imported content remains subject to Memside permissions, destination controls, and connected-AI access settings.
